Details
· Each participant has 2 minutes and 30 seconds to hit 6 provided real golf balls into a net at The Creeks driving range.
· Distance will be measured using a professional grade launch monitor, with results displayed on a TV monitor.
· Only drives that stay within the 60-yard-wide grid count. [30 yards to either side of center.] Total distance, including rollout, will be used.
· Bring your own regulation-conforming driver; 48” max and it must be a driver. No mini drivers, 3 woods etc. It must be a driver, and you must use your full speed swing.
Prizes
· Trophies awarded to the winners of both divisions.
· 50% of event entry fee will be donated to Pink Heals; Guardians of the Ribbon Manitowoc County.
· The remaining 50% is split evenly between the two division winners – 1. Handicap and 2. Open; plus, a trophy for each for bragging rights!
· Only first place in each division wins a trophy and prize money. Second and third place receive our sincere thanks for supporting a great cause!
Multiple Entries
· You may enter as many times as you want for an additional $20 per entry which includes both divisions.
· Each additional entry is treated like a brand-new golfer: you will hit a new qualifying round for the handicap division and a new final round for division scoring. Your additional entries are treated as a separate golfer. Ex Joe 1, Joe 2, Joe 3 etc.
· A later entry does not cancel out an earlier entry. Your best eligible result in either division stands.
· You could win the Handicap Division with your first entry and win the Open Division with your second or third entry.
Competition Rules & Scoring
Handicap Division Scoring
· Qualifying round (Round 1) is for your handicap qualifying distance only. The longest ball you hit with in the grid is your qualifying distance to use for the handicap calculation.
· Scoring round (Round 2) is your scoring round for both. Your goal is to hit a drive as close as possible to your qualifying distance from round 1 without going longer than that ball.
· The golfer with the smallest distance between their qualifying distance ball from round 1 and final-round distance ball from round 2 (without going longer than the distance in round 1) wins.
· Any Scoring (Round 2) ball that travels farther than your qualifying distance does not count for the Handicap Division, but that longest ball in the grid will count for the Open Division.
Open Division
· Only balls hit during your Scoring round 2 will be used for the open division.
· The longest total distance in the grid wins.
Equipment, Shoes & Warm-Up
· Drivers must be on the USGA conforming list and may not exceed the World Long Drive 48-inch club length limit. Clubs are subject to inspection.
· Soft spikes or smooth-soled shoes are required. Metal spikes are not allowed.
· Warm-up is on your own. Range balls/practice space will be limited and are not guaranteed.
Player Readiness & Shot Clock
· Competitors are responsible for being ready when called; approximate tee times will not be issued due to logistics. Be ready when qualifying starts to be in the tee box.
· On-deck players should report immediately to the scoring area. Players “in the hole” should be ready to report when called.
· Once instructed to begin, each competitor has 2 minutes and 30 seconds to hit six balls. No practice shots are allowed from the tee during the set. Every intentionally hit ball will count, even if it dribbles forward. A ball that falls off the tee or is accidentally nudged does not count.
· It is your responsibility to make sure you tee your ball in the area detected by the monitor. The light turns solid blue when the ball is detected.
